RG6/SATDS on a reel The "F" plugs that we stock have been carefully selected to match the cable that we supply (silicone grease should be applied). So the RG6FPLUG is for our RG6/SATDS cable, which is very soft and requires a fractionally tighter fit. The H109FPLUG was originally for CT100 cable. That is no longer manufactured and was superseded by H109F cable then by WC100, which is also obsolete. (Check HERE - we may still have some WC100 left.) The WF1FPLUG is for WF100 and TX100 cable, which is foam-filled and requires the slackest fitting. So the internal thread of this plug is the widest diameter of the three. The difference in internal diameter is a fraction of a millimetre and difficult to see or to measure, but it IS important. We know of no other supplier which bothers to ensure that the plug fits the cable. If you are in any doubt, please order all three and try them. They aren't exactly expensive! LOW COST COAXIAL CABLE type SATDS (similar to RG6) on reels RG6 double-screened cable with aluminium foil shield is more than adequate for short runs indoors. It combines flexibility with low cost and comes in black, brown or white. Air-spaced dielectric. We don't recommend RG6/SATDS for outdoor use in the UK because it has an aluminium foil screen under copper braid and this combination corrodes rapidly in the presence of moisture. This is Webro WF100 twin foam cable (choose black, white or brown). The same EN50117 electrical specification as above but it's twin "shotgun" style and comes as a 125 metre length on a big wooden drum. The advantage of this twin foam cable is that it's ideal for Sky-HD (High Definition). It looks neater than two separate cables and you don't need as many wall clips. It may be easier to pull up a cavity wall or through a conduit than two single cables. However, you can easily separate the cables at each end.
Suitable for Sky, Sky+, Sky+HD, Virgin cable TV, Freeview etc.
WF65 Twin (shotgun)
As used for "Sky-Plus" Digibox. This cable is double-shielded with copper foil and copper braid and gives a reasonable compromise between signal loss and ease of installation. Alternative choice of Aluminium foil screen. Each cable is only 4.8 mm thick and, together, the pair can be pushed through a standard 10 mm hole (as used for CT100/H109/WC100). We recommend 20 metre maximum length before LNB signal loss might become a problem. You can use a longer length if you increase the dish size. (For piping UHF signals you can use a much longer length since losses at UHF frequencies are lower - around 0.3dB/metre). If you need more than 20m, please buy a 100m reel because cut lengths over 20m are difficult for us to handle (heavy and we have no empty reels to wind it onto).
