BBC-HD problems since the change on June 5th

Panasonic TV Freesat BBC HD

On some Panasonic Freesat TVs, Auto retune does not get the updated

BBC HD channels. You have to set the TV to shipping condition then

switch off then switch on. After retune, the two BBC HD channels appear.

(Thanks to John Beniston for pointing this out.)

If you have any other kind of satellite receiver, you will need to check that it is capable of receiving a DVB-S2 signal. If it can, then you can use the following parameters to tune manually into the services carried:

  • Satellite: Astra 2D tp.50
  • Frequency: 10,847MHz (vertical polarity)
  • Modulation: DVB-S2, QPSK
  • Symbol Rate: 23.0
  • FEC: 8/9

(Thanks to Denis Martindale for digging out this info.)

Thomson DSI8215 SkyHD Digibox

Symptom: Both LNB signals are being received but, when you switch to BBC HD or BBC1 HD, the message "No satellite signal is being received" is displayed.

Cure: Delete all added channels on the 10847 transponder and reboot. Otherwise...

Cure: Delete all added channels and then do a new install with card in.

BBC HD on some Sky Boxes.

It may be useful to others that on BBC HD non-working SkyHD boxes to delete any "Other Channels" and do a "New Install". It has worked for some including me.

I have a Panasonic Freesat PVR and the symptoms you described applied to that, too. Autotune didn't reset the BBC HD channels (I got a "no signal" message on screen and I had to set it back to shipping condition and switch it off and back on again for it to work).

Just thought you'd want to know.

No BBC HD Channels on HUMAX FREESAT

Just a quickie, had the same problem on some Humax Receivers.

Also, one would not power on, had to use usb stick with loader on to boot it.

BBC HD channels 9000HD

Hi Martin, Just a quick thank you for your Newsflashes regarding BBC HD channels re-tune. I would not have been ready otherwise. After re-tuning, I have found that the EPG for both BBC1 HD and BBC HD have gone, I will let you know if I find them again and how. I use an AB IP Box 9000HD.

Regards, Bob Enright.
