SPC4 troubleshooting and lack of power on RF2 sky output.
You must have one of the Digibox RF2 outputs connected to port 0, as this is the port that provides the SPC4 with its own power.
You can mix ports 1, 2, & 3 in any quantity or order.
If one of your RF2 box outputs is broken, and another is connected to the SPC4, your "magic eye" will still light at the TV end as it is "borrowing" the 9V from the other RF2 inputs into the box.
You can "test" each RF2 input is giving 9V by trying them each in port 0 and seeing if they light the red led on the side of the RF2.
Cables can allow a perfect picture to the TV but NOT let the 9V through. Solder ALL TV plugs.
At some point, TV Link had to change their set-up procedure due to Sky updating the remote control software.
To set a Sky+ remote to work a particular port : Press [TV]; press [Select] and [blue] together; press the numbers as below, dependent on which port you want; press [Select], press [Sky].
- 0 for Port 0
- 2 for port 1
- 3 for port 2
- 1 for port 3
Or if it's an older model 1=1 etc. Just try each option if you aren't sure.
Make sure the RF2 is turned on in the sky menu: To do this go to Services, press [4] for settings, then press 01 and then [select]. Press [4] for RF menu, then set RF Outlet power ON and save this setting.
If you short-circuit the RF2 (perhaps with a multimeter testing it), you must go to the menu above, where it will still read as ON, turn off, turn on, save and reboot.
Also to change the RF frequency you don't scroll up or down; you change by typing the actual digits.
