PhantomPLUS works with your digital 7-day guide to turn any video recording device (VCR, DVDR, PC, HDD) into a virtual PVR. PhantomPLUS works with any recording device; DVD recorders, hard disc recorders, multimedia PC's, oh and the humble VCR of course! PhantomPLUS is first 'taught' the commands necessary to control your recorder and the channel number necessary to record from your digital receiver. It is attached to the digital receiver's "VCR" socket by means of the plug-through connector, and the main unit is attached to the side or top of the receiver or recorder by its magnetic base. Once fitted PhantomPLUS can be forgotten and will never need reprogramming unless you upgrade your recorder. All you have to do thereafter is to select your desired programs via your digital receiver's on-screen guide or internal timer, select "AUTOVIEW" or "RECORD" as necessary, (depending on your receiver) and PhantomPLUS will take care of the rest. When the program is over it will stop recording and switch the recorder back to standby. In operation PhantomPLUS is powered entirely from the digital receiver. New features: - DVD mode.
