Make a cut around the plastic sheath no more than 25 mm (1") from the end. Be careful NOT to cut the copper strands. Pull off the plastic sheath and fold back the copper strands. Peel off the copper foil and discard it. Cut around the white plastic ("dielectric") insulator 6 mm from the sheath. Remove the excess and discard it. Cut the inner copper core at a 45 degree angle to leave just 6 mm exposed. It is important to cut it at an angle to form a sharp point. Coat the copper point with silicone grease. It is important to do this, otherwise moisture will cause it to corrode and connection will be lost. Hold the pin with pliers and push it firmly onto the copper point. Coat the copper strands with a generous coating of silicone grease. It is important to do this to prevent corrosion and to make it possible to screw the 'F' plug on. Fit the white moulded insert over the pin. Screw the 'F' plug over the sheath and copper strands until the moulded insert is flush with the annular wall of the plug. This is most important. (If you can't screw it far enough, check the dimension of the dielectric which must be 6 mm.) Trim off the excess copper strands so you don't prick your finger when you hold the plug.
